ANXIETY & PANIC ATTACKS

Anxiety and panic attacks can have many causes and present in a variety of ways. Together we can try to identify the causes and triggers which can help you develop long term techniques to manage or stop these attacks.

POST-NATAL DEPRESSION / ANXIETY

PND is extremely common, but can make you feel incredibly isolated at a vulnerable time in your life. There is often a stigma or fear in discussing PND or anxiety, but I can offer you a safe place to share your feelings and try and make real, practical changes. Remember, PND and anxiety can affect men too, and their mental wellbeing after the birth of a child is equally important.

HEALTH ANXIETY

Health anxiety is a real condition. Many people still refer to it as 'hypochondria' which in many ways diminishes the huge impact it can have on your life. Health anxiety can be controlled and significantly reduced. 

DEPRESSION

Depression presents in many different ways. Often the cause is unknown. For some people they know exactly what the cause is. Therapy can help you explore the 'why' and navigate your way through this time. Counselling isn't a magic cure for depression, but I have seen first hand how talking can help people navigate the darkness and come out the other side, happier and more able to live a fulfilling life day to day.

RELATIONSHIP AND/OR FAMILY DIFFICULTIES

Many people experience problems within their relationship or family. These can range from day to day niggles to significant events which impact an entire family. I offer a none-judgmental place for you to discuss these issues, as well as the option of couples or family therapy. 

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Therapy can help you to process domestic violence, no matter how long ago it occurred or how recently. DV can impact every area of your life, and I offer a completely judgement free place for you to talk about it.  

PARENTING DIFFICULTIES

As a parent myself, I know first hand the difficulties that can come with parenting. Along with joy, happiness and love, it can also bring guilt, stress and pressure. Sometimes its not all rainbows and sunshine! Counselling can be particularly helpful    with parenting difficulties if you have experienced challenges or trauma during your own childhood.

STRESS AND TRAUMA 

Whether it be the daily stresses of life, exams and coursework, or the impact or trauma of PTSD, talking therapy can help you make sense of how you're feeling and work through it in a safe and understanding environment.

CARERS SUPPORT  

Being a carer for a family member or friend can add a huge burden of responsibility onto your shoulders. The majority of carers report a lack of support for themselves. Who cares for the carers, who do the most amazing job? Counselling can help you take essential time out to talk about how you're felling and and manage your own mental health and emotions. 

SUICIDE & SELF HARM

Suicide and self harm remain taboo subjects to many people. Whether you have self harmed, or experienced suicidal thoughts and ideation, have attempted suicide or have lost someone to suicide, you will find an accepting, empathetic place to talk with me. These are complex issues and I have the personal experience and training to support you, whatever situation you are in. 

LGBTQ+

I have experience of working with people who are exploring their sexuality or gender identity. I provide a safe, non-judgemental space for all members of the LGBTQ+ community.

GRIEF & LOSS

Grief and loss doesn't just apply to the death of a person. It can be the death of an animal, or the loss of a job or marriage. It can even be the loss of your own identity. Someone's death can also bring up many complex emotions, such as anger or relief - often emotions which seem difficult to talk to people about. Your feelings are valid and will not be minimised by me. 

COVID / LONG COVID

The impact of covid has been devastating for so many people; wether it be the impact of losing a loved one, or living with the long term physical or mental consequences of it. I have successfully worked with many people who have had long term trauma due to covid, and watched them get back to how they felt "before covid".  

NEURODIVERGENCE

I have a lot of experience working with clients who have a diagnosis of ADHD, autism, dyspraxia and dyslexia. I also work with clients who have a range of disabilities or additional leaning needs.
